Treo 650 Static Buzz Sound - Treo Forum

I just purchased a Cingular GSM Treo 650, and I notice that when I speak on the phone, after about 30 seconds, it starts a pulsating static buzz type sound. This seems to have been a major problem on the 600, but I'm not sure what to do on the 650.

I am not referring to the headset or a bluetooth headset, but I am talking about the speakerphone/earpiece on the phone. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?

I am desperate to NOT have to go through the hassle of returning the phone. Everything else seems to be perfect.

It sounds like there's something wrong with the phone. The firmware update might not fix it but it's worth a shot... - head over to Palm.com and checkout their 650 updates.

If that doesn't work you probably need to return it - a pain as you say but you can't use a phone like that and it's clearly demonstrable in store.

If you purchased the phone in the last 30 days there should be a 30 days no questions asked return/exchange policy.

If it's similar to the Treo 600, it may be due to a loose SIM tray. Check out this link for possible solutions.
