Lightbulb Caller hear the same ringtone.

Is there any way or any software available so that caller can hear the same ringtone as one playing on my treo 650. I have different ringtones for different friends. But how my friends can hear those rings on their phones. My friends in India are telling me that they can hear ringtones playing on the receiver's phone.

Is it something to do with the service provider or is there any software for it.

Please advise.

Regards,

Harjinder

I agree with the above post but there is such a thing called ringback. I believe Verizon has this service. Ive never used it but from what Ive heard It allows you to use a song for you incalling person to listen to instead of just a ring....corrct me if im wrong on this...

Ringback tones do exist, but I don't think that you can assign them to specific callers. I think you just pick a song, and everyone who calls you hears that same song instead of the usual ringing. That is, until you change it again.

Depending on your service provider you can have a service that will assign specific rings to specific callers. I have heard of this but I forget where and when. In addition to that there are instances where there is a bleed through in the line so that sometimes you can faintly hear whatever ringtone is on the other end of the person you are calling.

I have personally experienced it at different times and in different ways. At times I have heard the standard ring on the line with the music faintly in the back ground and at times nothing but the faint music. When my friend or the person I was calling picked up I asked them if that song was their ring tone and they affirmed and asked how I knew. Its not a service though more like a glitch or something in the line or call.

Hi

Thanks for all of your inputs.

Actually, I did asked my friends in India and they said that they can setup any ringtone/song and this will play on their phone when someone call them and the person on the other end (who is making a call) will hear the same ringtone/song.

Yeah,

With Sprint its called "call tones". Not bad but you have to pay $1.99 every 90 days. After a while it gets annoying paying for it.
