Not quite what you asked Deez122 but in many years converting my dvds to play on my xvid capable dvd player and streaming media players by far the best I've come across is Auto Gordian Knot.

It's basically a collection of tools that it manages to produce the best quality xvid's, mp4s and divx's I've seen. It's got a great tutorial which I highly recommend you read thoroughly. Whilst it's built to produce PC readable avi's you can get it to output mp4s.

It's updated frequently and has an active forum for help.

tip 1: Let it install all it's stuff in default directories. Don't worry about each program, they're best of breed freeware that are managed superbly via the AutoGK interface.

tip2: It's well worth the extra time having it do two pass converting to get the best out of the compression.

tip3: Read the tutorial thoroughly. You can specify target file size, custom compression for credits, n-pass compression, cropping etc.

Thanks for the vacation well wishes ... it was fine. The Treo 700p impressed me with its long battery life (contray to some comments) as it handled an hour long mp4 video and several hours of PTunes listening without denting the meter. (dimmer was slightly lower than half) Unfortunately I sat next to a kid with a Video iPod and noticed that the slightly larger screen would have been appreciated.

I also used the camera, EVDO and VersaMail when in Hawaii to add a few things to my blog pages ... sort of testing ... and noticed some odd color shifts with bright daytime photos where there was sky and water? The email to blog worked well as long as I wasn't roaming ... otherwise I had relatively good cellphone coverage. (currently I'm with Sprint) I 'tethered' once or twice while in EVDO coverage area but tried to remember I was on vacation so limited my time in front of my notebook.

All in all I was impress with my new 700p ... of course the 4 meg SDcard was delivered when I returned home. (noticed that even though it says 150x on the card ... it seems slower to read and write than my 512mb Kingston card?)

I am having the same problem with my 650, just got the Sandisk 2.0GB card and it doesnt see it. Formatted in the pc with FAT and still nothing.

I noticed you mentioned converting a TiVO program for your Treo. I was just wondering last night if I can transfer programs recorded on my DVR (Comcast cable) to my Treo 680/card? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

TiVO files are transfered to a computer, then onto a card for viewing on the Treo. If you can get the files off your DVR and into the right format it should work.

did you format the card in your treo? is your s/w up to date? check these out and see if you can get your card to work. if not, the card may be faulty.

How can you format it if, doesnt even see it? The laptop sees it fine.

Try inserting and removing the card a few times if you're using 1GB or less and/or update your firmware to the latest version if you're trying to use 2GB cards.
