| I made my first post! ![]() | My treo 650 is just over a year old, so no more warrenty. The problem I'm having is that the headphone jack seems to stick, so that the phone thinks that a headphone is plugged in , even though there isn't one. This error disables the speaker, and mic, as the phone assumes that a ear bud is installed. Anyone else have that problem, and what did you do to fix? I've cleaned the jack with a pipe cleaner, moistned with rubbing alchohol, just incase dust, or crud is blocking the switch. The error happens intermittemtly - I can use my phone for a hour here and there, but not all the time. HELP !!! Paul |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Unfortunatly the 650 has a history of those jacks going bad. They loose proper connection inside, and all kinds of not so fun stuff can happen. These include the problem your having, and also the jack not working at all. There is a fix out there, but it's better to have someone else do it if your not used to working on electronics. If I can find the self fix thing again, I'll post it here.

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | i just had the same problem w/ my 650 that i got from an insurance upgrade from the 600 from Verizon. so the tech claims that she knew no history of this happening, but for mine i wasn't about to deal with it. i called verizon and they said they are sending me out a new one free of charge. i do have insurance, but last time i tried to make a claim, they said the 1 yr warranty only applies from the originial 600, which i disagree with. i am not looking forward to getting this FRU phone, as it was a previously damaged one that is refurb and sent out....who is ur's thru and why won't they replace it for u..im assuming u don't have insurance on ur's....let me know.. |
