Sprint Treo 650 Subsidy Unlock for Verizon - Treo Forum

I've been given a Sprint branded Treo 650 and would like to start using it on my current Verizon account. After sitting an hour in the store and 30min on hold... Verizon said they can't do it; same run around from Sprint. I've seen all the possibilities with Google and such, but I'd rather not spend $25 for something the carrier should be able to do.

Any suggestions?

Is it a CDMA phone or a GSM?

[edit] If it's a gsm phone you can find a free unlock on the net, if it's a CDMA phone you will have to get sprint to unlock it,

I'm fairly sure it's a CDMA one since it's Sprint branded... but I'm googling how to check that.

If it is possible to get it unlocked on the net you could try that, but I was fairly certain that you will need to get Sprint to unlock it.

Yeah - WICKED irritating. Both carriers say they can't get the code... I'm about 10min from listing this on Ebay and moving on.

If you got your phone from someone you know maybe they would have more success in getting it unlocked as i'm sure it was registered to them.

I'm suprised Sprint can't unlock it.
