Taz UK is back!!

I think now the Treo 500 is available, would you consider that, instead of having the Vodafone branding splashed all over it like mine is currently. I have thw white 500v, as these were selling quite cheaply on ebay. Still not as good as the 750 though, but for emails and phone calls its brilliant

@csward75: Its interesting to hear the comparison between the two devices. How do you do switching back and forth?

Yeah how do they take to syncing between the 2 devices? And is it a big adjustment to get away from a touch screen?

I tend to use my 500v for work, as I have a separate sim card. This stays connected all the time so emails come through microsoft exchange, with my business now uses.

My 750 is used for my own emails, phone calls and also my tomtom GPS.

I do find that the functionality and user inferface more difficult without the touchscreen on the 500v, as its habit to look for the stylus to tap an instruction. However, I like the fact the screen is wider on the 500v, so can see more of my emails and excel sheets.

The biggest challenge is now having to carry 2 ac adapters and connectors, as they are now completely different, why did they do this on the Palm 500v and not on the Centro

Lotus synicing works ok with activesync, as have named the 2 devices separately. no issues there.

The lack of touchscreeen and the Windows 6 Standard, is a real letdown for the 500v, would have preferred windows 6 professional. The functions and options are much better and seem to work much faster.

No issues with inbuilt software, but currently all my 3rd. party apps on the 750, still dont work with the 500v, and checking the authors sites regularly for updates, which so far dont seem to have been done. Hoping the US version of the Palm 500 will be released, as it seems that more software will follow. Not sure if Vodafone capitalised on the exclusivity of the 500v, most people think its a blackberry

Yeah you'd have to use the WM6 standard versions of the apps.

Its gone quiet in here again. Think the Palm 500 will be the least reported Palm Smartphone. Must admit have now sold mine, due to lack of good software, plus could not adapt not having the touchscreen...

I can relate to the lack of touchscreen as a problem. Definitely no launch for me!

The 500v is a bit of an anomaly, Palm have never released a non touch screen Treo before so you could argue that it's not a true Treo. Debating whether to keep mine or not
