| I made my first post! ![]() | Phone call quality and reception There are lots of reports on the PDA type functions, but I haven't seen reports here about telephone calls. Any feedback about about sound quality, volume etc from the phone end and the other end? Phone reception signal strength compared to your other phones? |

![]() | I have seen no problems with reception. Operates exactly the same as my Treo700p did which is well. I get reception when others dont on other networks and this seems to be the same. I carry two cells normally and haven't seen a deficiency in this area. As for call quality, i think it is better. Particularly the speakerphone as my 700 was hard for me to hear as well as others when I used it. Volume levels are good and I am someone who likes the sound up. |

![]() | On one call while indoors at Best Buy, my wife said I sounded like I was in a wind tunnel. I have heard that if you have the volume up too high on the speaker (not the speakerphone) the microphone will pick up the sound. The proximity of the speaker and microphone is probably the culprit. On a larger phone, these are farther apart. The solution, if you can still hear, is to lower the volume a little. I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with signal strength or reception, but I have not left the city yet. I get four bars in my office and haven't missed a call yet. On my old Treo, I would often miss calls in my office which would go directly to voicemail. So from my limited experience, I would say that my signal has improved. |

![]() ![]() | I don't have a problem with the call quality on the Pre, but the BT is 10-fold better than my Treo 700p. Both my Jawbone (Gen1) and Cardo S-640 works great. As far as signal strength, I'm unhappy in that my home office is only showing 2 bars, was 4-5 with the Treo ... and if I head to the basement I lose a call whereas I didn't with the Treo. So, I either have a sub-standard Palm Pre as far as signal strength or the smaller footprint doesn't have as good of reception as the Treo 700p with the stub antenna? Poll: twtpoll :: How is the phone reception on your new Sprint Palm Pre? (comment your previous model) #sprint #palm #pre (via ) |
