![]() | Does the pre have an IR? What about transfering contacts? Does anyone know if the Pre will have an IR port for beaming info back and forth between handsets? Also what about transferring contacts from my 755p and the attached notes? |

![]() | My understanding is the Pre does not have IR. As to contact transfer, they have a one time Palm Desktop sync to the Pre. Also a third party is creating software that will allow you to continue Syncing the Pre to the Palm Desktop as well as other programs on you computer. |

![]() | Bummer on the Ir but not a critical flaw. I can still use bluetooth to send to my wifes centro right? God I hope so... My biggest concern was transfering all my contacts and those notes that are attached to them. That would be a critical flaw if left out. After all I believe it will be all the long time palm users who buy the pre..not iphone users or any of the other myriad of cell phone users. What do you think? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The ir port is being phased out of most current devices like cell or smartphones. As mentioned you will have ways of getting your data migrated. I suspect that a lot of the initial traffic going to the pre will be palm customers already with sprint and there will be some who are willing to switch to sprint. Sprint and Palm need to drive the pre and webos to get more people to switch to sprint because of the pre if they want to get enough revenue to keep both companies going. I do not like Sprint and do not plan to switch to Sprint. If the pre comes out in gsm flavor and I like it I may get a pre. I will go to a sprint store or find a friend who has a pre and play with it some. I will probably play with an eos at the ATT store. I kind of like that format better than the slider but I am keeping an open mind. I am still looking forward to wm 6.5 and even 7. The HTC Hero android operating video I saw on android central was really interesting as well. |
