Did I hear him say MICRO EXPANSION SLOT??

I thought the Pre had no memory expansion capabilities. If what I thought I heard this reviewer say is accurate (that it's got a micro card slot), then my level of anticipation just went up another 5 notches

Yep thats what I heard to. Glad that its got it I was concerned when people were saying no expansion memory card slot. Great!

You are right tscateh! A little hearing what I wanted to hear I guess!. Bummer maybe we can get a card reader with a micros usb connector for external storage. But not very elegant. Maybe at some point they will offer a 16gb pr 32 gb version.

I knew it was too good to be true. Oh well.

And not a chance Palm would even hint to us that they intend on releasing a 16gb or 32gb version. Otherwise 2/3 of us would wait for that launch, thus deflating their expected 1.5 million unit, 12-mo sales forecast.

I'm still getting it though. I'll deal with the fall-out later.

Me too. Might have become the only thing to drag me away from the Treo Pro. But I already have 1/4 of my 16 gig card filled. That's with pretty much all I want for apps. But not anywhere near what I want for music & no videos. The available space on the Pre will run out quick.

On the plus side, WebOS is a variant of Linux. On the PC many linux apps have tended to be smaller than their Windows equivalents. Hopefully the same will be true at the phone level.
