| A Few Questions.... ![]() | yeah, the 320x320 screen s a noticeable upgrade from the treo 700w/700wx's 240x240 screen. you can make even more use of the higher resolution by installing realVGA. Quote:
just so you know, you don't need to go into any menu settings to change that. you can easily switch between modes by pressing the lock button on the left side of the phone (short press shifts mouse/scroll modes, hold down locks the phone). Quote:
for most of us, currently the only usable option is "top power button only". although it's aggravating at first, you get used it quickly. hopefully with the next firmware release they will they will add an option to use the front power button (end key) to wake it up as well as a keygaurd like the treos have, but that's probably wishfull thinking. you can also use the messenging/email/missed calls bar/shortcut on the today screen to access it. there is a little icon and arrow on the right side of that bar which scrolls throughn the different outlook accounts. it will stay on the last one you selected (unless it needs to notify you of somethign else like a missed call or text message). don't hold your breath. I'll bet Sprint carries that phone before VZW does (if VZW ever carries it at all, they don't seem to care for Palm anymore). do you still have your treo? if so, try using it after you've gotten used to the optical mouse of the Saga. personally, I don't think I could ever go back to a D-pad phone again. the Saga is still very new so you can't find much info on it yet, but this is probably the most active forum for it so far. chances are any issues you come accross with your Saga have already been discussed there. enjoy your new phone ![]() | |||

| Junior Member ![]() | Treofanatic, Thanks so much for your review & updates. I've been waiting & waiting for something new from Verizon -- my only options based on corporate standards are blackberry & WinMo. The Saga sounds like it may be the best fit (maybe better even than holding my breath waiting for the Treo 800) I did get to see a dummy phone in a Verizon store -- didn't get to play with the mouse since it wasn't a live phone but definitley liked the phones form factor. I also find it very appealing that it's a true global phone with a SIM card. Since I'm heading overseas in 2 weeks, I may just pull the trigger & ordrer the Saga in the next couple of days. Again, thanks for the helpful information -- you have pointed me in what looks like a helpful direction.

![]() | Just thought I would re-oen the thread We have been using the saga for a while; OK, but not great. The HTC Ozone is a nice looking phone. But with only a D-Pad and no mouse, and a nice but smaller display, we don't love it. I just saw in the rumor mill that Verizon might laucnh the 800W in Feb 2010 Has anyone heard about this? thanks |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 800w? If they were to get a Palm Treo I bet it would be the Treo Pro.

![]() | Well, we finally ran out of time. Several of our 700w's are failing in the field, and with no "Great" Verizon WInMo phone, we are making the jump to Blackberry. I have been using the Tour for about 2 weeks; nice solid phone. Overall, the pros & cons so far. 1. Operating System - the Blackberry is fairly easy to learn how to use. Somethings it handles better, somethings WinMo handles better. 2. Handset -the Tour is a great phone. I am missign WinMo, but with verizons poor WinMo offering, I am happy with the Tour 3. Server Software - Our biggest challenge so far is learning the RIM software running on our WIndows mail server. We did not need to do this with WInMO - one of WInMo's biggest plusses |
