VMS is on a distinguished road
750w v 750p debate?

Heck, I've had my userID for all of 5 minutes, why not throw some chum out there?

I'm still running off an old Treo 600, so obviously I'm used to the Palm software. I use Palm Pilots for a few years before I got my Treo, so I'm generally more comfortable with them.

All my portable software is for Palm-based units, but I also have a Slingbox for watching TV remotely, and Slingbox has Windows Mobile-based software that'll let me watch my DVR recorded stuff on a WM-Treo. Kind of tempting.

I've read the other thread on Palm v. Windows software, but real-life experience seems a little sparse for a real pro-con. Any new voices or opinions?

Thanks!

I got a Slingbox too! Pretty cool aren't they, course you could rig the same with a whole bunch of open source software etc. but you'd kill yourself trying to get it all working and the remote controll too.

I've heard talk of a palm viewer but when and what I have no idea. Maybe Andrew here could put a little weight behind it.

As for the w vs p debate, I've only currently experienced the p version and whilst I've been disappointed with some aspects as compared to a regular modern phone (i.e the phone software itself) I've been pleased by much else.

I've heard the w versions have gripes in other areas and until the next full iterations of the OS's are seen it's difficult to call it. My experience of MS is that they usually learn very quickly both in feature sets and business models - re: Lotus vs. Excel, Word Perfect vs Word, Netscape vs IE, Windows vs OS/2Xbox vs PS/2 and on and on. Like em or love'em they listen (doesn't always seem like it) and learn (and of course are willing to spend vast sums getting it).
