Need Advice - 700p now or wait for 755p (Verizon Wireless) - Treo Forum

So I have been itching to get a Treo for some time now. I'm finally eligible to purchase a new phone and I was thinking of buying the Treo 700p, but then I came across the info that Sprint was releasing the 755p on their CDMA network, so that means that Verizon will get the same phone soon, right? Should I just go ahead and get the 700p now, or should I wait for Verizon to release the 755p? How long do you think it will take Verizon to get that phone? Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

We know that its going to be on Sprints network, but I'd at least wait a few days to make sure they don't announce it anywhere else. They can be tricky....

Yeah? When would you think that Verizon would get that phone on their roster? If I was unclear at all - I am a Verizon customer and I wanted to pick up that phone if Verizon does indeed get it. I remember it took Sprint a while to get the Q... if that's comparable at all. I'm obsessed with new cell phones, but music is my business - if anyone can help me out with some info, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There's really no info out there on it right now. I can tell you to keep checking here though, becuase if we find out we'll post it quick.

Cool thanks! So in actuality... no one really knows what the story is for Verizon getting this phone just yet. If anyone gets any insider info - do tell! I appreciate everyone's help!

There is no way to know for sure how long between Sprint releasing it and Verizon releasing it. I believe both Sprint and Verizon released the 700p at the same time, but it wasn't clear that was going to happen months before the release. There was more leaked information from Sprint in the months prior to the release.

OK, so realistically the Verizon version can come out at the same time as the Sprint version, but there's really no telling, especially if there isn't any leaked info. But wouldn't you think that Verizon images would be leaked if Sprint images were leaked? I hate the waiting game...

There may be a temporary exclusivity deal with Sprint. Phone manufacturers/ cell providers frequently do this to boost sales, not to mention in some cases there have to be changes between CDMA versions (Verizon, Sprint, Virgin Mobile and US Cellular to name a few) and GSM versions (Cingular/AT&T, T-Mobile).
