I recently had a blackberry curve for a short time while my 680 was not working. The email on the blackberry is amazing. and the reason so many business people, etc use them is because they always work. Yes, I heard about the RIM network going down etc but they are reliable. However, for texting, they are useless. There are no applications that I could find that would segregate text messages from email messages, so you would have to go through a mountain of email to find a text message. I'll stick to my quirky treo.

Really? 3 hours to set up a Treo? It takes me all of 10 minutes, if I were to hard reset my device, to resync my data over and be good to go.

The fact that your company likely already has an Exchange server which is compatible with both Palm OS and Windows Mobile, means that server setup is negated.

Perhaps in your experience Treo issues have taken 3 hours to fix, but when I was working with a company rolling out BBs it took them several days to get kinks worked out. With frequent issues relating to mail syncronization still happening when I stopped working for them.

In the process of selling my 650s. It hurts but at least they'll be getting used.

Blackberry wins
3rd-party apps (now more than 51,000 of them)
touch screen
device customization
extreme versatility
native Word, Excel and Powerpoint creation and editing
it can do BB stuff; BB cannot do Palm stuff

Palm wins (for anyone needing any more than email...and, as treotosh has pointed out, that's no longer an issue, either).

(P.S. Anyone taking more than 3 minutes to resolve a Palm issue is a serious rookie....
a company's IT / IT personnel issues are not a Palm limitation. And, not everyone used to a horse and carriage is going to be comfortable with, say, a Dodge Viper)

HUH!.....take that, BB!
lol.....thank you, contradude....well versed.
I, too, have used both, and agree with every point you've made.
In June of 2005, I had a new BB 7100T. I was amazed, having come from a Nokia flip-phone.
In August of 2005, I bought the new 650 from Palm. For 3 or 4 months, I dealt with the typical quirks. Three years later, same 650, modded ROM, no quirks, 30+ 3rd-party apps, and, the newest BBs I've played with appear to be email-capable feature phones.
I have 2 GSM 680s, NIB coming from eBay

excuse me......I have to grab my 650, FTP download an estimate I did (Excel spreadsheet) from my server, revise it in native format, and email it to a client (all told, about 1 min, 10 secs), and then listen to one of about 300 radio stations piped into my S9s via SAG and pTunes to relax
