afdrookie - considering that Verizon already offer the Treo 700p and Treo 700w it is highly unlikely that they would be releasing another Treo at this stage.

yeah the Treo Nitro (Palm OS) and Treo Lennon (Windows Mobile) are slated for October releases on Cingular.........

I guess I will cut to the chase. I am thinking of getting a Treo 700w from Verizon. But do not want to buy something only to be updated a couple of months later. I have no smartphone at this time. Would you "buy now" or "wait"?

The new models will be GSM phones, the new CDMA phone i.e. the 700W and 700P are already out. It's unlikely Palm will release another CDMA phone for another year to 18 months.

I wonder if the "Nitro" is the same phone as the rumoured "lowrider"?

The lowrider was supposed to be a cheap Treo with not so many features as the more expensive models.
