the 700 is strictly a cdma product. the next comparable phone coming out will be the cingular version of the 750. hope to see the 750 before the end of the year, more likely sometime in january.

Yeah and it's also down to the carrier (CDMA/GSM issues aside) to select phones for their platform and the feature set they come with.

There's a lot of people wondering when/if the palm os version of the 750 is going to come out too.

Brandon, thx for the reply. so you think it will be December 2006 or January 2007 when we will see a Cingular Palm Treo 750? my palm treo 650 is over a year & a half old & starting to have problems so i am trying to wait but losing patience. if they don't get the 750 out soon, i may have to go with a 680. Why am i having trouble finding any articles about when the 750 will be available.

750 in the distant future

There is no good news regarding the 750p. Palm recently reported that they would not be making the their quarter earning estimates and their stock got hammered. The excuse has poor execution of the 680 FCC cert. and a late rollout. [ I fully expect Palm to get killed this Xmas in the Smartphone market since they've still not had any 680 marketing by Cingular or Palm with three weeks 'til Xmas, pretty sad ]

But to further the 750's future, Palm in their conference call guided low revenues AND the expectation that the next smartphone release would not be 'til 3rd Qtr '07 pending FCC cert. If the 680 rollout is any example of their efforts, don't hold your breath. Also, imho, by then if the 750 isn't GPS and WiFi capable, then they shouldn't bother. Blackberry, Samsung, and others will be touting these features by then, without them the 750 won't cut it.

I love my Treo 650, and my previous 600, 270, 180 and Palm OS, but the company has squandered a huge tech lead in the marketplace, and should be in full catchup mode or it'll be an also-ran like Sony.

There has been some confusion on this. Palms 3rd quater began 12-01-06 as a lot of companies do they are not on calendar quaters therefore the 750 could concievably be out tomorrow or by Feb 07/
