Newbie

I am new to the Centro...so I am also new to the forum and I have a couple of questions.

1-Can a soft reset be done without removing the battery? The Palm Air Case makes battery removal difficult.

2-How do you post a Thanks? I read the FAQ but I can't find the button. I see now that I have posted, the Thanks buttons have appeared!

3-I have tried some of the links in Treo Musketeers' signature but none of the tiny-url's work. I couldn't send a PM because of the post limit.

Thanks in advance,
Charlie

Welcome to Treonauts 07Dually!

I'm pretty sure there is an app that will do a soft reset for you with out having to remove the battery.

Thanks LotusLord.

I just found Soft Reset v1.2 by RNS. Does anyone use this with a Centro?

Thanks,
Charlie

I use that one and it is OK. You could also download Destaller Lite and it has a reset function in it (recommended download anyway because some things don't uninstall properly but his software helps keep device clean)

Thanks for the heads up about the url links...I'll fix that when I get home (I'm going to test them after this post). There is a DA with a soft reset as well. I normally agree with Diebelsan's posts, but I have to present a dissenting opinion here. Destaller Lite does one thing that the delete function on the stock Palm launcher does (everything else is the same), and that is "force deletes." While there are times when force deletes might be helpful, I have found they potentially can cause more problems then they are worth. Usually if you disable the program you want to delete (that would need force deleting) you can delete it with the normal stock launcher and without taking more memory space with an additional not needed app.

Update: I just tested every link in my signature and they all work. Perhaps your web server is having issues surfing the web? I dunno.

Treo Musketeers,

Please explain DA...I'm still trying to learn the language.

I still get a "broken link" message when I click your links. I haven't encountered any other surfing problems. I would like to read the "Reset help" if you could send me a link by PM.

Thanks,
Charlie

I just tried all the links in Treo Musketeers sig and they all worked for me. The ones that resolved to Treonauts ran a bit slow, but no broken link errors...

Thanks BlankReg

I guess I don't have a clue why they won't work for me.

DAs (I think the abbreviation is for desk accessory) is normally a hack of some sort that will popup over another app and allow you to run some operation. When I get home I'll send you the link for resets and the link for the DA for resets (as well as a DA managerlink).
