![]() | Centro won't hotsync via bluetooth I was really excited about the idea of hotsyncing my Centro (on the Verizon network) via bluetooth. It took me a couple of weeks to make the time to get it set up, but then it only worked for a few days, maybe up to a week, before it suddenly stopped working. (This shouldn't have caused any problems, but I did purchase and start syncing an iPod to the same laptopl, but via USB.) I've tried re-pairing my laptop and Centro. I've tried reconfiguring my hotsync software. I just tried reinstalling my Palm Desktop software and am syncing via USB and I think it's stuck. It's been "synchronizing calendar" for now more than 10 minutes. I should be able to restore to my Centro from a back up, and move to a restore point on my laptop to resurrect my previous settings, but how do I fix the bluetooth issues? I've read the info palm website about setting up a "Bluetooth HotSync Operation" (article #13950) and I seem to be "missing" the option to setup in my HotSync Manager. Which is why I tried reinstalling palm desktop... I'm so frustrated right now. Help?! Edited to add: If it helps or makes a difference, I am currently running XP with SP2. ![]() | Update: I finally cancelled out of that hotsync after about 30 minutes. It never advanced beyond the calendar. My Centro did an automatic soft reset and was fine, and after a restart I have all my data on my laptop. I tried resetting my bluetooth settings, and it works. They seem to be communicating with each other... the computer recognizes the attempt by the Centro to connect and the hotsync manager starts, which is one step further than I have gotten in days... except that I think I am stuck again. It's been sitting at "Synchronizing Calendar" for at least 5 minutes. I am going to leave it sync over night (both are plugged in) and see what happens. I fear that it is stuck again. I had this same problem when I tried to install palm desk top on my work computer, so I could sync to both machines. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is a common problem with Palm Desktop 6.2.2 (particularly with Vista, but sometimes XP) and a not so common problem with the Palm Desktop 4 series. Go into the Hotsync icon on your desktop and set the calendar to do nothing. Then sync. If it syncs all the way through, go back into the Hotsync icon and ensure the calendar is back set to sync (usually this happens by default). Sync again. If it goes through all the way, you are set. If it gets stuck on the calendar again, you might have some corruption in the calendar. Try downloading TealScan (see signature below) and scan the PIM data for corruption, if you find some fix it. If not, then download DBFixIt and scan PIM data again (DBFixIt is actually more in depth than TealScan, but you have to pay for the app to actually get it to fix the corruption while you can get Tealscan to fix it in trial mode). Sync again. Hopefully its fixed by now, if not post again.

![]() | Thanks for the recommendations. Everything is working now, at home. I would still like to be able to sync to my work computer as well, for ease of updating during the day. I've hit a new hurdle with that. I'll be doing more research, and maybe asking more questions soon. |
