Searching Contact List on Centro

I am frustrated by the search algorithm on the Centro contacts.

EXAMPLE: I have Smith as Last Name and Sue & Tom for First Name. If I search for Smith or Sue I will find my contact, however if I search for Tom, I get nothing. Am I missing a setup option or preference? Sometimes I don't remember how I have put an entry in and so my searches often fail. I want to be able to search for any string in the contacts list, whether it be a name, part of an address, part of a phone number, etc.

Is this possible? Are there 3rd party apps that will do this? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

You might try looking at TAKEphONE. That is about the only app I can think of that will do that. There are a couple apps that let you scroll through your contacts very quickly such as TouchBook and Treobble that are freeware. You can also get an app like VoiceDialIt and record each individual of a couple or family, to quickly call that contact.
