![]() | I just heard from someone in Howard Forums who says that you don't have to do anything special to access DUN from the Centro, says he does it all the time on the Treo. Yet I cannot connect with mine. Anyone have any ideas? Roger |

This used to work when I had the Treo 650 on Sprint. I was able to use dial up to get data, and there is even scripting support enough to connect to my school's network - which is sweet and useful. The important part is the connection (see Prefs). You need to set up a connection to do Connect to "Modem" via "Wireless Modem". Then set up your network profile and choose that connection. The "Virtual Modem" connection may also work. This will only work on CDMA providers (not GSM), because the backend GSM network is digital or something and requires circuit-switched-data plan to make dialup work. Also, sometimes the local PSTN screws with something in the system so that this flavor of dial-up doesn't seem to work (i.e. FairPoint in northeast US). I thought I was out of their area, but maybe they moved up here too so that I can't use it. They didn't kill it alltogether, just this trick of connecting from a cell's OS. I haven't tried BT DUN though. I haven't been able to try anyone's Treo 650 in this area, but I will if i meet anyone. | |

![]() | Hi CentroPod, Excellent review.. thanks for the input. What program are you using to store the medical records? I need to start doing this as well. [quote=CentroPod;46375]Hello All, Six very busy years of my business and personal life were recorded in its little data bank. It contained all my wife's and my medical history, doctors appts, births, deaths, account numbers, and so on. I was synched to a laptop, so it was all backed up but when I was out and about I needed access to that stuff. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I use Resco IDGuard to put all my accounts, passwords, activation codes, etc. in. I use a freeware app called Doctor (The Medical Database) to store medical info. I believe it was written by a teenager, but is a decent program and you can't beat the price. You can find it at Rodrigo Software :: Palm OS and Internet Solutions

![]() | Thanks for the review. I have and still use a Treo 600 on Sprint. I successfully changed the battery and it has served me well. But, it is now damaged and is dying. I am probably going to get the Centro to hold me over until the Pre is out and settled. The drag is that the Centro does not seem to support Win2K and Outlook 2000 so it does not appear that I will be able to sync. Did I miss something? What do you figure the chances of it working if I just tossed it into the cradle and hit the button? Cheers. |
