Text Message Alert Question - Treo Forum

Please help!
whenever i send a text message i hear a sound, which i can only think is a confirmation sound that the text has been sent. i don't want to hear a sound 3 seconds after i send a text.

i also get a separate sound (which i've chosen) for when i receive a text message.

how do i turn off the sound for confirming a text was send from me/received by the recipient.

Go to Preferences. Then look at Application/Messaging and then set it up the way you want.

so i tried that, i assume you meant to go through the "sounds" section, then preferences for messaging. i've actually looked there before, but no luck
any other options?

Yes, sorry, I jumped past the "Sound and Alerts" section of the Prefs. You set it to "no sound" and you still get a sound? I'm bewildered then. Not sure what would cause that. Maybe try setting volume to 0 as well.
