Question - Using phone/applications while charging - Treo Forum

Hello all -- my first post.

When the Centro is charging (for example, using a wall charger), and I use the phone, am I using energy from the battery, or does it come straight from the charger?

I'm wondering because I would like to use the internet radio feature of pocket tunes while i'm in my car (using the auxiliary cord to my car stereo), but doing so blows through battery pretty quickly. I was thinking that if I had the car charger hooked up while I was running internet radio, perhaps I wouldn't be draining the battery.

Does anyone who is familiar with the device's specifications know? Any actual knowledge would be appreciated! Thanks.

Even when the centro is being charged ,when you are running gps or streaming radio you are using the battery . There is no way to bypass the battery when trying to run an app .

Frozen is right. However, I have kept my Treo charging at work while playing ptunes all day and at the end of the day I have a full charge. Therefore, my conclusion is that the battery charges quicker then it drains the battery to use . So, running the Centro off the charger in the car should work fine.

During the time that you play Ptunes the battery is acting like a filter . Meaning , it does not deplete as fast as it charges .
