Centro and Desktop?

OK I am confused after searching and reading many posts.
Tomorrow I am upgrading from my ATT Treo 650 to an ATT Centro. My current version of Palm Desktop is 4.1.4. And I use Windows XP Pro OS.

Should I use the disc that comes with the centro to upload the desktop?
If not, are there any features on the centro cd that i want to add to my computer?

Thanks to all for your help.

Yes, go ahead and upload the desktop from your CD. Chances are you'll have the most up to date one, but even if you don't you can download a newer version right over the older version and should be fine. Not sure what is on the ATT CD, but they are always fun to explore and see what the freebie "bonus" software is. Let us know if you have any problems or questions and enjoy your new Centro.

The only thing about the Centro version of desktop is that it is C R A P!
Everything is gray. You loose the ability to color code your events.

Ive read that you can uninstall the centro version and go back to version 4, but I can quite get it to sync up. Maybe I did something wrong.

So this reply is two fold - 1st, unless you want to loose the look youve gotten used to dont install.

2nd, how do I go back to version 4 and still be able to sync the calendar?

NO no, the version on the CD is 4.2, you have to download 6. whatever... unless ATT did the new one, the one from sprint has 4.2

It should work, I went to version 6 for a bit to test it for work and went back to 4.2 without a problem

not sure why your's is acting up, have you tried removing your old profile from palm desktop then re-sync it (essentially creating a new user)

Thanks for the response

The version from ATT is v 6 something.

In my second or third attempt I got it to sync. For some reason (operator error probably) it lost some of my catagories but a small price to pay to roll back to v4.

Now if I can get my bluetooth to find my plantronics
