Centro Security?

Hey everyone. As I was looking at my banking information on my centro the other day, I wondered what sort of security is on these babies...

I mean, I have a PC and a Mac. With the PC I have to regularly download updates for spyware, virueses, etc. With the Mac I don't really have to worry that much. What about with the Centro? Aside from downloading files/virues... what else do I have to worry about? I mean, with a PC (and mac to a lesser degree) you also have (or should) maintain a firewall. Does the Centro have this capability - is it necessary? When I am doing various things on the web browser, like checking my banking information/email/purchasing items of Amazon/etc, can I be assured it is "safe"?

Or should I restrict those types of activities to a more secure connection like PC or MAC, in other words, a computer?

What do you all think?

The Palm OS has had about three viruses since its inception. The last one came out about five or more years ago. I have read through many forum threads and have never once heard of anyone having a problem with a virus. There are anti-virus apps out there for Palm OS, but IMHO they are a waste of money.

As for other forms of security, there are a plethora of password, encryption, etc. apps. Some are free (like YAPS), and some cost moola. I personally use Resco IDGuard, as it allows you to not only protect passwords, credit card numbers and the like, but also allows you to protect word docs, etc. Its only drawback in my opinion, is the lack of a desktop companion, but that is reportedly in the works.

Another form of security is the phone itself. Warden is a good app for not only doing some of the above, but also protecting all personal info on your phone if stolen or lost. I think it also has a means of erasing everything in the event of being lost or stolen (a Treo cyanide pill).
