Calendar (Centro) Won't Sync to Outlook

I am a long time Palm user (8 years) and just got a Centro. Although I've synched to Palm Desktop all these years, I decided to try synching to Outlooks 2003. However, my Calendar won't sync!!! I have searched online and tried different solutions (including putting end dates to repeating events, uninstalling DateBk5 and Holidates, etc), but the calendar still won't sync. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Here is a post I found that may be of some help:

I just spent several hours with Palm paid support to solve my problem syncing my 755P. The real issue was outlook.

I had the following behavior.
- Sync worked fine for everything but Calendar and contacts.
- The Sync log had several OERR errors. They indicate the issue is with Outlook, not Palm or Hotsync.
- Hotsync/Custom would reset Calendar & Contact to Do Not Sync regardless of what it was changed to at the beginning of the Sync.

With the support analysts assistance, we did the following
- deleted & recreated the User. This cleared up the Contacts problem but not the calendar.
- Ran Outlook Detect & Repair. It took a while and did fix some stuff.
- Checked to be sure there were no more than 15 categories with no sub-categories
- Deleted Recurring appointments that had no end dates
- Deleted all Appointments that span across midnight.
This cleared up my problem that I had been dealing with for three weeks.

Thanks for the reply. I had found a similar post and tried the suggestions (put end dates on repeating events, etc). I spent about 2 hours with Palm tech support this morning to no avail. I think I'll go back to synching with Palm Desktop for now so I can focus on other issues with the Centro.

I had the same issues, and on another area of this forum, I found the outstanding advice from the poster: "mrchuckbadazz". I followed his steps, and immediately, my calendar updated.

To add to his notes - I had to add a "dummy" account when I deleted my exchange server account from VersaMail.

This guy was a lifesaver!

Exchange account and calender sync behavior on the PC

One thing that is important to note when your calender conduit keeps changing back to do nothing.

Make sure that you don't have an Exchange Activesync account setup in versamail. If you have an exchange account setup in versamail your conduit on the PC will change to do nothing because the device already recognizes you are getting your calender via exchange activesync. When you change the calender conduit to syncronize files it will change back to do nothing everytime. The only way to fix this is to either 1) sync with the exchange account and get the calender off your exchange server 2) delete the exchange account by going into e-mail, tap the upper left hand corner, tap accounts, tap account setup and highlight then delete the offending account, now you should be able to sync with the PC.
