The Centro, Palm Migration , Data storage, and legacy program problems

I've been a palm user since Palm's inception in, what...1999? Anyway, I've had some sort of PDA for proly 20 years or more...Casio was in the fondly remembered pre-palm mix and ALL of my casio data has been passed along as I upgraded from pda to pda, so I've got over 1900 names WITH associated notes, and almost 1000 individual notes(memos). Yeah I know...I also have a lot of irrelevent, dated and probably just plain garbage in there..but and no....I don't have a Clue who Martin Bijoorin at 212-xxx-xxxx is, ... or what "door 42x81" " pertained to....but that is besides the point dammit!......I'm a data junky/packrat!!!....mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!!!

My path Palm->Handspring Visor Delux->Handspring Prism->Treo650->Cingular 8125(in a deranged, quest for the ULTIMATE SmartPhone/PDA...tho I'd be happy to discuss the wonderful XDA-developers forum)->Palm Centro.

Just as an aside, I'm now using Outlook as my Sync source as a result of my foray into the WM5-6 Rom Burning madness...I think I like it better than the 9 year used Palm desktop...think mind you...

The bottom line here is I've been having problems migrating programs which worked fine on my previous palms to my Centro...hangs...mostly. Note: I recently purchased an Adata 4G SDHC card...and that MIGHT be the root of all my problems...but I've had problems with

Facer Pro 3.11-won't stay resident and program move from main memory to card is flakey--I've used this on my Prism and Treo 650 for 3 years. I want my Facer launcher back but the producer( pocketcraft.com) has not responded
Files-REsets the Centro-included as bonus when you register
Dataviz-Docs -worked fine on Treo with 2G card, but hangs on SD CARD lookup of files-available as a bonus
PTunes-the one on the Centro ROM- Player-self-corrected (did cold reset with batt out power button pressed -erase all data=yes)REset
now, data reading problem intermittently...but no crashes


So...as regards my new Centro?

I love the tiny size and speed and 4G storage, and almost 3 times the main memory of my Treo 650, and 1.3MP camera, and consistantly blazingly fast search(the reason to have a pda...yes?...Fast RETRIEVAL OF DATA?....WM5-6 on the Cingular 8125 using ITS Right 6.1 Rom took 12 MINUTES to search for text....Palm Centro...12 seconds!...)

So..bottom Line...What data migration tips, nightmares, successes have you had going from one PDA/Smartphone to another?...ahh..last tip before I shaddup...Chapura is a great migration tool from palm desktop to Outlook...k
