Documents to go/memos

I recently upgraded from my 650 to the new Centro and I am having a few challenges.

When I beamed all my memos over from my 650 to my Centro, the Documents to Go program "grabbed" them and put them into its folder. This would not normally be a problem, but I have some sensitive information that I had password protected.

Can I put a password on certain files within Documents to go?

Is there a way to beam the memos again and have them go to the memo application from where they came from? Or should I not even use the basic memo function?

Hmmmm....good question(s).

There is an app being recommended for encryption. I do not recall what it is right now but I believe a search will help you out.

I'm not certain about the beaming issue but I would't give up on Memo...especially with a few free Memo apps floating around that are pretty nice. Search for PsMemo.

Optimus Centro out.

The only app that I know of that will password protect certain documents in DocsToGo is Resco IDGuard. Its a new application and the desktop version isn't quite finished, but like most Resco products it is outstanding.

I just transferred a file from my laptop to my Centro via Bluetooth and it asked me if I wanted to put the document (a text file) into Doc 2 Go.

Try transferring via Bluetooth and see how that works out for you. You may be able to select No and have them as a Memo. Post up so we'll know for future reference please.

Optimus Centro out.

I just tried sending a test file 2 different ways.

First try was beaming again and when it asked if I wanted to accept file into documents, I said no. It then closed. 0-for-1

Second try was using bluetooth. Documents grabbed it again. 0-for-2

Hmmmmmmm......you went from cell to cell correct?

Try going from cell to PC to cell....I know it's a long shot but we're desperate.

Is there some reason you're not just HotSyncing the Centro? If you've changed HotSync ID's then just Copy the MemoDB.pdb to your new HotSync ID Backup Folder and sync. I think that would put the memos in the right app.

Just an FYI, if you upgrade to the full version of D2G it will allow you to password protect files, as well as many other things.
