Looking for Clean install instructions

HI all-
I will be getting my Centro soon and will be needing to get my 755p data on the Centro. I want to start fresh and will not sync to my current file. I will install all programs I use one by one allowing for time in between to be sure there are no issues. (I use TomTom Navigator 5.040 which is not 100% functional on my 755p, but does work, Splashnotes, 2day & NFL Mobile).
My questions are:
1) what about all my saved websites bookmarks? I'll have to enter each one at a time?
2) Also, my contacts? I am not sure how to do this part without using my current file which is my Palm Desktop user Tudyk.
3) Ptunes music and other data on my 2gb miniSD card- just do a transer?
THis is where I am very "untechnical" and need some help. I want to do this the "cleanest" way possible.
Please advise or refer to a website, article etc.

1 & 2) If your not going to sync to your old profile, you could always beam the contact catagories and bookmarks to your new phone. Otherwise you'll have to enter them one at a time.

3) If they are already on an SD card, just transfer to your new one.

As for the rest of your install, your going down the right path. Let us know if you need anything else.

first of all, let me ask you this: where are syncing your treo 755p? is it in outlook or palmdesktop?
if it's in palm desktop then you have to save the username folder that you assigned to the device. if it's in outlook, then the only thing that you need to save is the backup folder since all your major PIM data are stored in your outlook.

Why would I need a backup folder if my contacts are on my laptop and I can set the conduit for contacts and calendar to computer overrides handheld?
2. I'm going to install NV Backup this time so the hard resets on these blasted phones don't completely erase my data. DO I INSTALL NV BACKUP TO THE PHONE OR TO THE SD CARD???

karen, you can beam the contacts from your 755 to your centro. you can also install nv backup to the phone but have the backups saved on the sd card, which is kinda the point since you want those backups where they're available after a hard reset.

Yeah Karen,

When you install NVBackup you need to install it to your device. The actual backups are saved to your SD card. I can't find the readme file, but I am pretty sure the program goes on your phone.

Ok, I Set Up A Custom Hotsync. I Wanted My Contacts On My Handheld Overwritten By The Desktop Bc I Went Through The Desktop And Cleaned Them All Up.
It Didn't Do It!!!! I Hv The Same Contacts On My Phone That I Hd Before...the Correct Ones Are Still On My Laptop.
Go Figure.

OK Brandon, I did an nv backup but the contacts i backed up weren't good because the hotsync w my computer (which IS right) didn't work. So NOW WHAT DO I DO???? You see why I hate this???
