| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Questions Hi...I have been using the Zire 71 and a Sprint phone for the past 5 years+. I'm now thinking of moving to a smart phone. The choice is between the Treo 750p and the new Centro. I can live with the small keyboard, I think??? I depend heavily on my Zire for appointments, contacts, notes and playing scrabble Are there other differences I should consider? I understand that neither the Treo nor the Centro has voice dialing unless you pay extra per month. I also understand that the Treo has a piece of software for voice dialing without an extra cost per month. Can the Centro also use this piece of software. What is the name of this software. Thanks for any sound and unsound advice you can give me. Dr. S |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The 755p and the Centro run the same version of Palm OS. There aren't many other differences between the 2 other than the form factor and the type of memory cards they use.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm not sure if the 755 has deluxe, but it looks like you're right csmelosky. I was really referring to software compatibility and hardware though.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi Dr. Susan and welcome to Treonauts! Yes, the 755P could be a good option if the small Centro keyboard is an issue. I started getting Carpal Tunnel, so I bought a Blue tooth Keyboard. I take notes, memos, calendar app., and most important, I IM tirelessly. So, the Centro might be for you. *short note taking may not affect your ability to get the job done. Oh yeah, hands and fingers don't hurt anymore! |

![]() ![]() | Dr. Susan welcome. Have you tried shopping at pocketgear.com? They have quite a large number of programs. I didn't check for voice dialing , but they just might have what you're looking for. |

![]() ![]() | With either the Centro or 755p, you'll need either third party software or Sprint Voice Command to voice dial. I prefer software because it's a one-time expense vs. Sprint's monthly fee. I found Sprint's Voice Command annoying to administer because you had to update it from their website vs. recording your voice on your phone. I'm using Initiate Pro for voice dialing (and as an app launcher) now, but several voice-dialing apps are available: Voice DialIt Treo Voice Dialing Nuance Voice Contol |
