Centro Indicator Light Problems - Treo Forum

Hi All-
Treonauts noo-B here.

I am quite pleased with the new Centro. My wife and I have both purchased one! I only have one complaint (albiet a rather major one); the indicator light does not work. So far, it only shows as a charging status indicator (red for "charging" and green for "charged"). There is no external indication of a VMM waiting, new text message, new email, or new calendar reminder.

The Palm documentation clearly says that "your device's indicator light blinks green when you have a new alert. This way, you can be aware of new alerts even if the screen is off."

This appears to be a known issue on a few other boards, but I was curious if anyone here had any experiences/break-throughs with this "bug." so far, I have only been able to get "partial" satisfaction from a beta release of Butler.

I just noticed this (after reading this thread of course). I guess a 3rd party app would be needed to rectify this....or just check your phone more frequently.

My blue tooth flashes purple when I have a missed call. (yes I see it flashing when I'm wearing it...I have a wide peripheral range...sometimes I can see what I'm thinking).

Optimus Centro out.

I use phonedisconnect. Even after the trial expires, it will still work for missed call and texts (doesn't for VM per se but since it works for missed calls you will know about most VM's unless they come direct through the VM system). If you pay the $7 for the license, you can get rid of the annoying call disconnect sound it makes and add functionality for linking LED only when the phone is charging (not when it is plugged in but literally when it is charging, if it is plugged in and fully charged it won't blink

). There are reports Treoallegro works with VM but also reports about endless reset loops from that one.
