too funny. crisis averted :-)

I think the 5 way doesn't work since this is made for 'any' palm not just the treo so it has no special consideration for the 5-way.

Thought you might also like out check out the freeware Fileprog it does a similar thing the might work on your Centro's Palm card.

I wouldn't worry about Palm patching a method you might have for running the filez, there's a few other things to patch first in their OS so put us out of our misery and let us know.

I don't know if it's the website or my tempermental Vista operating system, but I had to go to Palmgear.com to download Fileprog.

Hi all, were to start... Well, I just got a Centro for Christmas and this is my first smartphone. So far I LOVE it! I use to have a Tungsten E that's power button broke off so I had to let it turn itself off after 30 seconds.

Anyways, I really like the fact I can check my email on the go and look up directions via google maps. Sprint TV is ok, but I find most of the shows on there outdated, one was 6-7 days past.

I haven't really used the battery up past the first mark, but I don't have a BT headset, and briefly use the internet.

Maybe it is because I use to have a Nokia 6225, but have people told you that they can hear more of the background noise on the Centro?

Yes, this will be someone's first smartphone, but for me it is my 4th in the Treo/Centro line up. I had the 650, 700p, 755p & now the Centro. For me it is all about size. Typing is not an issue for me. As for battery life, it is much worse than the other Treo's BUT, one forum suggested Power Hero which I bought and it gives me the same battery life I had with my other Treo's- all is OK now! I highly recommend Power Hero if you have a Centro and are running out of battery life too soon.

I just got the centro, selling my 680, they are basically the same (if you have the up-dated firmware). the reason I made the change is because I like the smaller phone. so far I find no cons to this phone.

I'm on my 4th Treo now. Started with a 650, and HATED IT! 2 years later, got a 680 and LOVED IT! I had to replace it 3 times on warranty though, as all sorts of stuff went wonky with it. Finally got one that worked, and WOOHOO! Then the Centro came out, and I had envy. Somebody talked me into trying the 750 for Windows Mobile, and boy was that a mistake! I've been using the Palm OS for 8 years now. Can't teach this old dog a new trick. So, sold it on eBay, and bought a Centro. LOVE IT! Synced marvellously with all of my stored 680 info, including 3rd party apps. And as stated above, feels so much smaller than the 680. I do wish the stylus wasn't all plastic though...

Cheers!

Also this is one of the frist phones that i can think of that was a CDMA network phone before a GSM.

Does the sprint centro run on the same PALM OS as the palm treo 755p?
