Centro: No incoming sound during outgoing calls, echo

I am a long time palm user, I have loved and used palm products for the last 12 years. Keep that in mind when I say I want to throw my Centro out of a second story window.

Outgoing calls regularly fail. When you make a call, you do not hear it begin to ring. The speakerphone option is available, so the button in the headphone jack isn't stuck, BUT there is no sound from the call, like dialing or the other person's voice. All I hear is my voice, clear as a bell, coming through the speaker on the phone. Exciting part is that it will dial, the other person picks up, I can't hear them but they can hear me. That makes me believe it is probably a hardware issue rather than software.

Maybe I'm just imagining it, but I swear hitting speakerphone when I start the call gets me sound more often than not. I can then turn it off and proceed as normal. Has anyone else had a similar experience??

Thanks in advance for your help...I don't know how many treo 650 problems this forum has fixed for me over the years

I think you got the Narcissists' version of the Centro...they don't care about hearing the other person, just themselves. All kidding aside, I assume you've tried a hard reset and running it without any third party apps to see if you get any better functionality? You might also take it to your carrier and see if you get any better results with a different SIM card. If you get no better results, then I think you're right and its a hardware issue. Then you have some choices: 1) Get it repaired; 2) If you have insurance, get it replaced; 3) purchase a replacement on ebay or Craig's List, etc. Best wishes!

Stu
