FileZ is just a better freeware file manager than Files. DB Scan is the older version of DBFixIt. Had you been able to get it on your device, it too would've found the blob. Basically a blob is a corrupt database. Glad the techie was able to walk you through it.

Also, I believe Files only shows you the files on your External Card. Or at least that is all I've been able to get it to display. Also, Files supports direct launching of a file with its associated application (I don't think Filez does that) similar to Windows Explorer (at least it works with music and pictures, I don't know about everything else)

But I agree that Filez is a more complete file manager in terms of manipulating files.
