![]() | Making space on ROM I am down to 1.3M of memory on the Treo 650. I am trying the software Clean Up but only a small portion has been removed. I also use Card Launcher but am finding that any software transferred to teh SD card does not save new information that is added. Also under App/Info/Records there are records such as Clean up 1222, Messages Database 595,MMNotify 429, pTunes 1261 rec eventhough all songs are on the SD card. Any suggestions to obtain more space appreciated. |

![]() | cleaning up the ROM You can use the Treo ROM Tool: grack.com: Treo ROM Tool <--And you'll have to do plenty of reading:--> custom rom'ing: ROMTool Custom ROM Tips & Tricks: Custom ROM Tips and Tricks - TreoCentral.com Apps That work in ROM: Apps That work in ROM???? - TreoCentral.com ----------- This will help you extract the ROM from your 650. You'll then be able to delete applications from the ROM as needed and clean up lots of space especially if you use some other browser instead of Blazer, or email client instead of VersaMail. You'll hear the warnings over and over: you might brick your phone and render it useless. As long as you do your reading, you'll be fine. One thing to note: I got caught in an endless reset loop when I tried putting my modified ROM back. When I restored, everything was ok again. Realized that when replacing the ROM, it's better to use an uncompressed directory instead of the Zip+md5 files that the ROM Tool originally creates. Also, give yourself lots of time. Don't forget to backup your ROM. Either by SD card method, making a copy of the Zip+MD5 files, or at least HotSync'ing so you have all your data. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is a very dangerous proposition. I'm going to leave the info here, but don't be surprised if it's deleted. We can't be held responsible for bricked devices.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There are pre-made custom ROM's which are less risky then making your own I've got one on my 650 ![]()

![]() ![]() | Welcome to treonauts cristan! What about moving 3rd party apps(I am assuming that you have some)to the sd card that you don't use very often or dont need right away? When I had my 650, I kept my bible software and other stuff on the card you can always move stuff you need in memory back into memory from the card. |

![]() | I use PowerRun. Works wonderful. It transfers files to the memory card and leaves a shortcut on the Treo. Check it out.

![]() ![]() | That seems to be a less risky alternative to acheieving the objective cristan wants than modifying the rom and chancing turning a perfectly good treo into a hockey puck. |
