![]() ![]() | I loaded the trial last Friday and registered yesterday. I have the 2100mAh extended battery and feel like I've got almost double the life out of it this week. This is a great program! One thing I have found, however, is a bit of a problem with using the "Power Saver" and "Bluetooth Auto-off" features. When I use these settings, it's supposed to turn off bluetooth after x-number of minutes and turn it back on when either a call is received or I dial a number BUT most of the time I find that the bluetooth is not switching back on automatically and thus my headset never connects. My fix has been to not use power saver and auto-off for bluetooth and, instead, set "Scheduling" to turn bluetooth on at 8am and off at 7pm (traditionally the timeframe I'd use headset). I figure 13 hours w/ Bluetooth off is still saving my battery life. I don't know if this is a Power Hero issue or just an issue with either my Motorola H700 or the 755. I still would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this. |

![]() | Me too!! I just downloaded the trial today and am experiencing the same bluetooth problem. Have you figured out why it happens and how to make the auto-on/off work or are you still using your work around? |

![]() ![]() | Still using the workaround right now. I think I'll drop Hobbyist Software an email reporting the trouble. They are very good to resond & I'll post here when I hear back. |

![]() | Power Hero BT Auto-off Problems I'm an early adopter on these things, so I love BT and use it everywhere. I don't carry headsets, I just buy the latest ones and leave them charged in places where I'm likely to need them (different vehicles, offices, gym bags, rooms, boat, etc.). I've registered power hero and noticed a positive change, but I'm having the exact same BT problem with the following items: Parrot 3200 Motorola S9 Motorola H9 Jabra JX10 Aliph Jawbones Motorola H700 Jabra BT500 Plantronics 645 Palm (too old to recall) I've had some experience dealing with Rob at Hobbyist. My feeling is that if someone pings him on the issue, he'll tell you that he's working on it (and I'm sure he is!). I don't think it's his fault, though. I had noticed that the way the Treo's BT program works, it doesn't always reconnect when you turn it on (it shuts itself off when the 680's miserable battery life gets too low, which is why we all bought Power Hero to begin with). It doesn't turn itself back on when you recharge the Treo. I think that Power Hero can only do so much and that this one is Palm's problem. I'll check back to see if anyone has any luck with this. |

![]() | I don't think the bluetoothmanager was meant to be controlled by third party software so it would require a hack or patch to make it work I think.

![]() ![]() | I received an email request from Dan at Hobbyist today requesting the log data from Power Hero on my Treo. I'm sending that this evening to him and will post updates as they become available. |

Here's what I found:If the BT power is off (and Power Hero setup to turn it on upon incoming or outgoing), when a call comes in or you make a call, BT does turn on but during that first (incoming or outgoing) call the headset never connects. However, once you hang up and get (or make) the next call, the headset attaches just fine now. The "turn BT off after so many minutes" feature in PH works just fine and turns BT off, but the same scenario (above) happens when you receive or make that next "first" call. We'll see what Dan finds. Stay tuned...

![]() ![]() | Update from the Power Hero developer I received a reply back from Dan @ Hobbyist last night and he seems to have found the same thing my "test" did - that it's is a combo of Treo's BT mgr and the headset. He does indicate he's working on the beta for an update that would address the issue & help it work with all headsets. Here is his reply: Quote:

I've had very good experiences with the folks at both Hobbyist Software and Electric Pocket (Ringo Pro). I got the 755 when it first came out in May and had some quirky things happen with a couple of apps I use. Someone from each company was very quick to respond with a solution. Hobbyist came out with an update very soon after that for Butler and EP emailed me a patch to load for Ringo (v4.456 wasn't out yet). Gotta love the smaller companies and developers that still care about their work and customers.
