How to turn off the annoying button tones? - Treo Forum

I just bought a Treo 650, and I cannot figure out how to turn off the button tones, except put the phone in silent mode. I have always disliked when phones make the tones mandatory.

Does anyone know of software that can turn them off? If not, how do you write your own Treo software? There has to be a guide on here somewhere...

It's under system sounds settings in Preferences.

Nope, buttons are still making noise.

Under sound: General, there are 2 options: System Volume & game Volume.

If I turn the system volume off, then turn the game volume off, the button noises come back.

If I turn the game volume off first, then turn the system volume off, they stay off.

I know that makes a LOT of sense, but it DID solve the problem, and I'm just happy I didn't program this phone!!!

That IS odd! I never used games on my 650, so I guess I'd always had those sounds turned off & never got to experience that anomaly
