Voice Dialing Recommendations? - Treo Forum

Since I'd really like to not pay Sprint for Voice Command, can anyone recommend a decent voice dialing program that will work on the 755p (or even one that worked well on the 650)?

I've looked at Initiate Pro 3.0 (did the trial). Good concept - does lots of things, but just seems like overkill for what I need. I don't really have the need to voice launch applications and the like - just want to voice launch the phone calls.

I use VoiceDialIt. Seems to work pretty well. I tried the Palm product, but it caused my 680 to crash.

I use Treo Voice Dial. I tried a number of applications, but this program has the least frills and is extremely easy to use. It needs very little training and responds well to voice dialed numbers.

I have used Treo Voice Dial on my 680 for almost 2 years without any problems. If you use a headset it only works wired (not Bluetooth) but I believe that is a hardware issue not the software.

Use a wired headset scary given the problems with the headset jack over the years.

But you have Alltel? not sprint. But here on treonauts we have very good voice software at you only pay for once just the way i like it

At the time of my original post, June '07, our company account was with Sprint. We just switched to Alltel the last week of April this year.

I've tried a few of the voice dial software last fall, but still haven't found one that I really like. They just all seem so "cumbersome" since they can't be activated via a BT headset.

I have a 755P and for some reason today, I was able to wake the phone and initiate voice dialing with my Jabra BT350 head set. I was able to do this for about an hour and then it all went away. I installed the trial version from VoiceSignal last week and was very surprised that out of the blue it worked. I have a side button programed to launch the program and out of habit from my old phone pressed the button. I heard the Say a Command announcment from the phone, not the headset but it did transfer after connected. Has anyone else had this happen and is there a way to make it stick?

I guess I missed your post - sorry for the delay.

I have to say, I was skeptical of the switch to Alltel, but actually have much better reception (more bars, more places) with Alltel here. Virtually never lose or have poor signal anymore and (Hallelujah!) finally have reliable EVDO. Sprint "says" it's here, but it's so spotty that it's worthless in our area. (i.e. one corner of my office has it but sitting at my desk, no)

Voice dial software update - kind-of gave up the search. (the lack of BT integration is a deal-breaker). Anyway, I've installed TakePhone and it's helped as you can let up shortcut buttons (icons, pix) for contact dialing or applications. Actually, I'm really impressed with TakePhone and its features.
