![]() | Yes, a wonderful recommendation. I love Alex and have so many of his apps on my TX that I've lost count. Now that he has a Treo (650) the Treo world can get ready for more great apps from him. He currently has three (one shareware and two freeware) in discussion at 1src, if anyone is interested. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | err - could be a really stoopid question - but exactly how/what do I need to install for NVbackup on a Centro? I've downloaded a couple of zip files (binaries and source) and unzipped them. The binaries file just contains the nvbackup prc, but the source contains a whole heap of different files. Do I just grab the lot and add it to the install manager? Do just the prc files need to be installed on the palm itself or is it everything? I've just got a new centro (it's not been in the uk for long) and I love it! It's so nice to be back with palm after a couple of years in the ipaq wilderness with windows mobile... |

![]() | Does anyone know if there's a decent "readme" file or installation instructions for this? I had 1.18 installed and supposedly working but today I had to do a hard reset (I have a 700P btw...) and all of a sudden I see that my last backup was from two months ago! I have it installed on my card and backing up to my card... I could really use some help! Thanks!! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | First, I would recommend updating to the most recent version (either 1.22beta): http://pruss.homeip.net/alex/NVBackup.prc or 1.21, which also has the Read Me file you are looking for: SourceForge.net: Downloading ... Its a great program. Best wishes! Stu |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The readme file should be in the zip folder you downloaded. As a matter of fact, 1.21 and I believe 1.22b6 is out. Go to your zip folder and find the readme file. Check to make sure that the latest backup is backing up on cycle. There should be the word, (cycle) after the name of the backup. If you don't have that, then NVBackup is not setup to do a cycle. Just in case you don't know how to set up the backup as a cycle, do this: Highlight the last backup, push the menu key, select edit details and then make sure that the box "Include in schedule cycle" is check marked. Now, hit the menu key and select Options. You will have the following: Compress: Select the amount of compression that you want your backup file to be. The more compression, the smaller the signature on the card. Then, make sure that Daily backup at: is selected and make sure to a time which you want your NVBackup to back up the phone (oxymoron there, LOL). Make sure that Put NVBackup on card on backup is selected. If you wish to encrypt, then check the box and put in a password. Don't forget it or you will not be able to get the Treo restored. The Cycle size can be used if you have more than one backup being created at a time. I have mine set to 1. I hope that didn't confuse you more than it did me writing it. |
