| Junior Member ![]() | HotSync doesn't :-( Sigh. I'm really starting to miss my old Treo 600. I just plugged it in and it worked. For three 3 years. So far, my Treo 700p has just been one big headache from the day I got it. OK, here's the latest problem: I finally got Palm Desktop 6.2.2 installed and working on my Dell Inspiron running Vista Home Basic. I did a successful HotSync with HotSync Manager 7.0.2 on May 31st. When I tried to run HotSync yesterday, no HotSync window appears on my Vista system, and the 700p flashes the "Connecting" screen for about 100 milliseconds before going to the "Last HotSync..." screen. The 700p says the last HotSync was May 31st. Vista says the last HotSync was June 10th, but with errors. It says that DateBook, Address, etc all synchronized successfully, but that Backup synchronization aborted and then "Protocol error: Unknown error. (4403)" When I check DateBook, it's clear that it did not synch. Any attempt to run HotSync again gets the 100 ms flash and the "Last HotSync..." screen on the 700p, and no reaction at all on Vista. Anyone know what the problem is?? I'm running out of patience with this thing. Although I'm a hard-core, long-term, deep-down techno-geek, this particular piece of technology is one that I need to just work, not to constantly play with. Thanks for any and all help.... |

![]() ![]() | I understand your tfrustration. I has a similar experience with installing active synch in my casio pocket pc and my Journada 567 several years ago. If I was to hazard a guess I would say that your conduits have gotten bolloxed up somehow. Check the conduits settings ( I am guessing that you still have conduits in Vista in dealing with the palm os). Perhaps something has changed the settings and thats what is causing your problems. I have the 750 on winmob 6 so I am a bit removed from palm os by about 2 years. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Have you considered it might be a software (as in on the device) issue? Try using a program like NVBackup to backup your phone, the hard reset. Try a sync after that and see if it works.

![]() ![]() | Before you hard reset, you might want to just soft reset the 700p. I have had my HotSync desktop ignore the handheld more often than I care to remember for no perticular reason whatsoever, a soft reset seems to flush the issue. Go figure. Good luck.
