![]() ![]() ![]() | Issue With Hotsync After a Hotsync, this is the error I get: PM Trace Database Protocol Error: Handheld file could not be opened. (4004) SYNCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN Any suggestions as to what might be causing this error? I am on a 755P Running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit and yes, I downloaded the latest Vista compatible Palm Desktop Software from the Palm website. Thank You, comiken |

![]() | Sounds like the PM Trace Database on your 755p somehow got corrupted.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | PMTraceDatabase Protocol Error Handheld file could not be opened. (4004) SYNCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN If your Hotsync comes back with messages every time informing you that there were errors, this is usually it. The solution, however, is relatively easy to fix: 1.. Launch FileZ or Resco Explorer and tap on view and edit files 2. Open the internal folder and tap pmtracedatabase and put a check mark next to it 3. Tap details 4. Tap on the "Attrs" tab 5. Uncheck the box next to backup 6. Click Save 7. Sync Its a common problem with Hotsyncing with Vista and sometimes XP desktops. Last edited by Treo Musketeers; 02-24-2008 at 09:25 AM.
