Vista setup requires "Hardware Device Driver" - Treo Forum

Hello.. New member here! I have been having incredible grief trying to synchronize my Palm Treo 680 with Vista. I have no problem with a borrowed XP machine, but when I use the "new" Windows Vista Beta 6.2, at the end of the install cycle, Vista recognizes new hardware and demands a device driver that cannot be found anywhere! Anyone have a clue about what to do (other than waiting for non-existent Palm or Windows support?

Did you attach the Treo before or after you installed the Palm Desktop beta?

Thanks for the reply. I connected the Treo when the installation guide prompted me to do so. It was at the end of the install routine and prior to the registration screen.

I had the same problem with 6.2 and someone on a Treonauts thread suggested that the supplied installation disc be used instead. I tried it and it worked just fine. I just had issues with the username that was answered and now I'm synching without problems.
