IR Hotsync - Treo Forum

Hello everyone, I'm having trouble syncing my Treo 700P (Sprint) to my laptop, a Thinkpad T22. This was also a problem with my old Tungsten C. It says under the message heading, "HotSync Problem": "Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application." What that application is I have no idea. The funny thing is, I have gotten to sync once or twice, but this usually is the message. I have also had to do a soft reset once the sync was done to use it again. My laptop has recognized the Treo as a IR device nearby, so both units IR seem to be working. Any suggestions?

Any reason why you're using IR rather than USB or Bluetooth?
