Can't Sync with Hp Pavillion - Treo Forum

My computer, HP Pavillion running Windows XP Media Center crashed a couple of weeks ago and I had to order restore disks from HP. Restored and re-installed all software and cannot get my phone to sync with the computer no matter what I try. I've been on tech support w/Sprint, HP, check pal boards etc and nothing has worked. The Treo 700 p is connected by USB cable. Cable and phone checked out fine by sprint service center. I've done soft and hard resets, uninstalled and re-installed palm software @8 times. When I press sync button, it trys to connect, computer makes usb sound but then the hotsync never starts and eventually I get a handheld failed to make connection with desktop message. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the usb reset didn't work, it gave me an error message when I reinstalled the software. All the usb ports test out as working. I've tried most of the things that apply on the sunc help site. I'm stumped.
