![]() | Problems trying to Hotsync using Bluetooth - Treo 680 & Mac OSX Hey Guys- Replaced my Treo 650 (broke it) with the new 680. HotSync using Bluetooth is not working for some reason. It is getting hung up on "DETERMINING HANDHELD CONFIGURATION", and then it just disconnects. It works fine using USB - but not with Bluetooth. I have the correct ID's (username) on the computer side and the Handheld. Log is not showing anything other than "lost connection with handheld". Running Mac OSX 10.4.8 THANKS!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sounds like it's timing out while looking for the configuration information. See if you can lengthen the time allowed before it times out.

![]() | any idea on how to do that? Also, seems it doesn't want to HotSync Voice Memos. Had to disconnect that from the Conduit settings. Weird.

![]() | Ok so I finally got through to Palm via Cingular customer service. That was chore in itself. Geez. Anyway, I talked to a tech there and here's the problem: The speed setting on the MAC needs to be the same as the setting on the Palm Device. He told me to start at 19200 on both and then move it up slowly and see when bluetooth stops responding. Well, 19200 is as fast as I can use it before it craps out. I never had this problem with the 650 so I have to say that I'm a little bummed that hotsync is more of an issue now. Oh well. I love the phone otherwise!

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I am behind you. How did you get your Treo 680 to connect ot your Mac? In your Mac Bluetooth Preference pane, did you select Modem or RS-232 Protocol? Did you select a Dial-up Networking Service or an OBEX Object Push Service? My Mac will only let me setup to "Access the Internet with your phone's data connection." I just want to HotSync. For hotsyncing, I opened all the Bluetooth HotSync conduits I could in Palm Desktop HotSync>Connection Settings. Do I setup a Palm Desktop Conduit using Apple Modem v.92, v.90, etc.? I reached a point where my Mac lists my Treo 680 as a Bluetooth device but it won't connect to it. Can you give me detailed steps of what you did? Treo 680, Mac Pro, Mac OS 10.5.6 |
