| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Is there a way to get Versa Mail to sync with Outlook2003 and download my email. It seems to sync the conduit, but, it doesn't download any email from my laptop. Also, Versamail seems to work wirelessly with gmail, but, it doesn't always download my current inbox. Either way, for me I would rather just sync it to my laptop. (My laptop never leaves my side.) Many Thanks Tony Milano New T650 owner. |

![]() | To add another question to this one. Is there a way to email invitations to people. I know that you can sms them but that is annoying. Outlook allows you to email an invitation to someone and when they accept the invitation it is automatically updated to their calendar. I would love to have that capability on my TREO 680 |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Palm doesn't support syncing email to Outlook, but rather to the exchange server. So you won't be able to view email that you downloaded and removed from the server. Also, I don't think that there are any apps that support sending out calendar invites through email. The SMS one you are refering to only works with other Treos that have the same program. ![]()

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Re "Palm doesn't support syncing to Outlook"...I'm getting the same answer from Verizon tech support about my 700p. But the Palm web site in talking about Versamail says it:"allows you to get and send mail wirelessly or via a HotSync® operation." And when you start to set up a new account in Versamail, you get a window that says "Set up my Versamail account to sync with:". Beneath that are two boxes, and a circle by each box so you can pick the one you want. The top box says "An email account detected on this PC" When I first got my Treo 700p and set it up, one of the choices in that box was something like "Outlook 2000 or higher". I picked that, and the inbox and outbox from my Outlook email synced every time I did a hotsync. I had other problems and had to hard reboot my Treo. Now that top box only detects Outlook Express as the email account detected on my PC...and I never use Outlook Express. I can't figure out how to make it find Outlook. I did find one comment on the Palm web site that said if Versamail wasn't finding Outlook, then Outlook probably wasn't set up in...I think it was Task Manager, but can't figure out now where I found the setting. Anyway, I checked and it was set up correctly. Does ANYBODY know how I can get Versamail to recognize that my email account is set up on Outlook, not on Outlook Express? I should have started a new thread for this but I'm brand new to this web site and having figured out yet how to start a new thread. Any help will be greatly appreciated David Last edited by dhs14; 12-31-2006 at 12:06 PM. Reason: Re-read my post, found it wasn't clear |

![]() ![]() ![]() | If I am correct to get outlook to into your task manager, you can go to options in outook and select the start outlook on windows start up something or other. Or go to start, run, type msconfig (XP) and the go to startup. Find the outlook program and select if. Restart your computer and it should pop-up. Somebody help me on this. I am at work and I don't have administrator access to verify. I am doing it from the top of my head. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | @ dhs14: When you set up your new Versamail account, and it talks about syncing with an email account detected on this pc, it's talking about copying the settings for that account. That account is linked to another mail server, be it web based like Yahoo! or from an Exchange server, so when you set it up you will get the mail from that account. If your Outlook was set to leave messages on the server until you delete them then Versamail will download them, as its designed to download anything in your inbox weather its read or not. As I'm sure you know, you can check your mail wirelessly while on the road, but if you choose it will also grab any new mail off that server when you hotsync. Hope this helps!

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Thanks to Comiken and Forgot. But there wasn't enough detail for me to be able to follow the suggestions. Can I have a step-by-step explanation please? Also, I want to make sure I've been clear about my problem. Wireless sync is working fine. But I want to set up Versamail so it sees Outlook email and transfers it to the Treo 700p via Hotsync, not wireless. When I try to add an account to Versamail, Versamail says my email account is set up with Outlook Express. It's not; it's with Outlook 2000. If I can get Versamail to see Outlook, I think I can solve my problem. My OS is Windows 2000, incidentally, which doesn't recognize the msconfig command. My ISP is Time-Warner. I don't use gmail, yahoo or any of those--just the POP account from Time-Warner. Thanks |
