![]() | Desktop Anomaly I've managed to transfer my large number of Palm apps (by beaming) from my TX to my new Centro and everything is working fine, except........ I seem to have got into a bit of a mess as regards Calendar and Datebook databases and at one point had both in my diary and everything was duplicated. I've now worked out (I think) that Calendar is the correct database for the Centro and when I deleted the Datebook database everything works fine. Except, it's almost as though I'm using the old Datebook application on my PC and the Calendar database on my Centro. I can enter new appointments on my Centro and colour-code them (English spelling of colour for the purists!). However, on Palm Desktop they are not coloured and are are all the same light blue colour. Also, when I Hotsynch, it tells me that it's synching Datebook, when I would have thought it should be synching Calendar. I've deleted and reloaded my new Centro CD but it doesn't help. Can any of you clever technies tell me how I can get my nice coloured appointments back in Calendar Weekly View? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the trouble to help. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | DateBook and Calendar are the same app. You describe everything correctly. Palm changed the name only on later Palm OS devices, but it still goes by Datebook in the PC Palm Desktop. Nothing to worry about now that you've corrected the data duplicates. As far as the colors, you out of luck if you're using Desktop 6.2, the approved desktop for Vista. Some using Vista are using the 4. series successfully, which still has the colors in it (as well as some of the other old standard Palm conduits).

![]() | Thank you for your speedy response. It seems a backward step on Palm's part not using the colours. Do you think that I would be safe reloading my previous version of Palm Desktop, the one that I got with my TX? I've been running the TX version on Vista since Vista first came out, without any problem. I'd really like the coloured appointment blocks, they're a great help when glancing at my coming week. |

![]() | Thank you Just to say thank you for your help. If you hadn't told me that the lack of colours was a feature, I'd have spent ages trying to solve the problem, as it seems inconceivable that Palm would actually remove such a good feature on a much later version of Desktop. I uninstalled version 6 of Desktop, downloaded 4.14e I think it is, and everything went smoothly and I now have my coloured appointments back. The new Hotsynch application was prettier than the old one but I can live with that! Thanks again. |
