I really like minitones. It's pretty idiot proof for me because you just have to move the sliders around to cut the portion you want for a ringtone. I downloaded Audacity and find it to be much more complex. Then again, you're talking to an idiot!

Yes, Audacity is much more complex, but it's also designed for editing music for cheap professionals. While I'm no professional, I'm cheap, and perhaps a little crazy about editing music...

Here are some freeware software that I enjoy that hasnt been mentioned yet:

-Today v2.3 I made this the initial screen that I see when I turn my Treo on. I think this is an excellent addition to your Palm. Here's the link: Freeware Palm: Today v2.3 ***I think EVERYONE should have this application in their Treo.

-pFuel v0.04.03 It records fuel purchases and computes statistics and Graphs related to fuel consumption for each vehicle. Here's the link: Freeware Palm: pFuel v0.04.03

Enjoy!

Hours for Palm OS

Hours is a very simple time tracking utility. You can track Start and End times (either by manually doing it or hitting the clock button that adds it for you), breaks, Rate ($ per hour and extra $$), and add a note so if you forget what you did during that time, just tap on it and read the note. You can also graph your time and export it to MS Office StarOffice, OpenOffice, Gnumeric and others (please read their manual for more on this).

Here are a few pics:

Progect

Progect project manager
SourceForge.net: The Progect Project Manager

I have been using this opensource program for years now to plan all sorts of things like travelling, study project, moving or to archive notes in a flexible way. First on a Zire, then on a Tungsten and now on a Treo 680. Tasks can be linked* with Todo, which I find expecially helpful.

*Unfortunately, there's a bug in this feature: once a task is linked with a date in Todo, the date can no longer be changed. Workaround: Mark the task as done and create a new one with the new date.

I like Mini Bar. It's great if you want to try something different to drink while your out without spending $8 to find out that the waiter forgot to tell you it has some ingredient that you dislike. It's also has a nice filter function so you can have it give you all the drinks with one, two or three specific ingredients. It makes you look like you know what your ordering (and who doesn't want to earn extra cool points?)
