Need Some Help

I downloaded the VoiceCall Software and when I went to purchase the registeration code, I was told that toysoft does not support this program anymore. I would like to have the code so that I can add more than the three contacts that you are limited to in the trial version. Does anyone know how I can get this code or someone out there that has it and will share. Since they are not supporting the software anymore then it would not be pirating.

it would be pirating since it is still one of toysoft's products, whether they choose to support it or not. do you think microsoft would say 'it's ok' if someone started to sell copies of windows 95 on their own just because ms didn't support it anymore? i suggest you find another voice dialing application that suits your needs. sorry if i come across as a hardass but when i see 'registration', 'code' and 'pirating' in one post anywhere on this forum, it's like waving a red flag at a bull.

edit: anyone found to be sharing registration codes of any kind on this forum will be banned and their posts deleted. this was referenced in this announcement.

Brandon, I understand your point but, there is a BIG difference between pirating a program that the developer is trying to make a living from and trying to run a program that the developer themselves obviously no longer care about.

That's a completely invalid argument because nobody was even talking about selling and/or profiting from VoiceCall. The guy just wants to run an orphaned program.

Running Orphan Software hurts nobody.

Copyright still exists on it whether or not it's still sold/supported. If ToySoft had said it was Ok to use someone elses reg code then that would be different.

As moderators it's our duty to make sure nothing illegal takes part on these forums regardless of what our own personal views on it are

ok, i'll rephrase. do you think microsoft would say 'it's ok' if someone started to hand out activation keys of windows 95 just because ms didn't support it anymore? i stand by my original statement - activation keys cannot be shared just because a developer no longer supports a particular application. an alternative would be something like voicedialit, available in our software store.

I actually had a similar issue quite some time back. What I did was to pester them day-in, day-out till they finally gave up and handed me a Reg code.

If I may interject or interpose or anyother $25.00 word that we lawyesr might throw out the law would favor the software developer and it is indeed software piracy and could subject the violater to fines and legal fees and all sorts of difficulties. Thats not to say that it would happen but its possible. And this forum cannot condone it or be associated with the possibility of it as we may be tinged with the same paintstroke that gets plastered on the offender(s). Sorry but Brandon is correct. Try another program or pester them until they give in.
