Need help with downloading Keyboard software - Treo Forum

I bought the Palm 3245WW keyboard for my 680 and tried to download to my VISTA OS. I get the message that it's NOT COMPATIBLE YET! It gives three workarounds and I chose curtain #3 because I didn't want to buy a card reader and don't understand the emailing the .prc to myself and downloading through the hotsync. I have another PC that has XP on it and I already had a Palm desktop installed on it for my old Treo 600. I get almost through the entire download and sync process and I get the message that I already have the user name "raydeeeo" on this PC and have to change it to complete the sync process. I KNEW I already had the same user name on both computers and all of the devices I use. That's why I CHOSE the user name. I thought I would be able to sync to both computers if I had the same name...dumb me.
I cleverly thought I could UN install the old desktop application on the XP machine and then REinstall the new 680 desktop app. I did that and when I tried to sync at the end of the process when told to do so, I get the SAME message about the user name thing. Are there some hidden files in the Palm program that fail to uninstall for some reason? Am I completely stupid? Or is there a rational reason the software can't allow the same user name on two computers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS TREONAUTS....HELP!!
This is my third keyboard and I thought that by buying the PALM product, I was through with the hassle. NO SUCH LUCK!!

I finally got the thing working by downloading to my laptop (no Palm ANYTHING there) and synching to the 680. I've graduated from Treonaut U.!!!

Hey raydeeo. Thanks for posting your fix. Are you using the Bluetooth Keyboard? I love mine and use it all the time. Memo taking and all. I love the fact that I can view this web page in its entirety using Opera Mini. Give my keyboard a whole new meaning.

Good morning,
I bought the 3245WW and synched the bluetooth easily, finally after using my laptop. You're right, it really like the "feel" of the keys and it's easy to use. The didicated 1-0 on the top row is terrific too.
