OneSpot Games Needs your help!

Hey Guys,
My name is Braden Napier. I am the owner of a new game development company for the Palm OS (And more in the future). We have recently invested in a total of three projects which should be ready for full release in the next month or two. A beta should be ready in about 3 weeks.

Our first game slated for release next month is called Electronia. Full descriptions and gameplay videos are available below.

What I need from you guys, is a general reaction to the gameplay and video screenshots of the game. I took the video from a Linux OS with a Mac OS Video capture software using Parralells so it is not the best performance, but any feedback is appreciated.

The official Website (Under Construction): Electronia

Youtube Video 1 (Classic Mode):YouTube - Electronia Demo Video 1

Youtube Video 2 (Arcade Mode): YouTube - Electronia Gameplay Demo 2

Classic Mode: The playing field (known as the grid) is filled with many different tiles. Your goal is to rotate each tile to create a working path from a charged outlet to an uncharged bulb. When you have completed this, the path is destroyed and new tiles fall in place to replace the tiles. Each level gets harder as you need to light up more and more bulbs and make sure you watch the time, it's always running against you!

Arcade Mode: A new twist has been added to Electronia in this exciting new version of the game. Blocks fall from the top and must be twisted as they fall to create connections similar to that in the classic mode. Once the block has been placed at the bottom of the level, you can no longer rotate the blocks. When the blocks reach the top of the level, you are out of time and only progress to the next level if you have lit up the specified number of bulbs. No timer in this one, take your time and strategize your twists and turns to complete the level.

The official version will feature much-enhanced graphics and a few gameplay tweaks. This is a production version but I wanted to get the buzz out there and see what people think.

I also would like to hear game ideas from you guys and what you would like to see.

On a side not, when we release the game - I want to be very community involved and I would like all of your help in seeing a successfully launch of our company. To show our appreciation for any/all feedback and help you give us... we will be offering extreme discounts to ALL community forum members of Treonauts and TreoCentral (for now) - any other communities you guys could tell us about would be appreciated.

Thanks a ton guys, we really appreciate your help and hope you like our games!

Braden R. Napier

Welcome to Treonauts, Branden! Thanks for continuing to develop products for the Palm OS in a time when many other developers have abandoned us. I think your approach is sound as there are many on both forums that will sample your games and give you good feedback. I will take a look at the videos tonight and post my impressions. Thanks again.

Stu

Wow, that looks really fun! Like Stu said, thanks for making a great Palm OS product when many are pushing us aside. It looks like it could be very addictive, and I really like the different play modes. I'm quite sure I could spend many hours in the arcade mode, which is "tetris like" but with a rather nice twist. Let us know when the beta arrives, because I'm sure there are many of us who would like to test it!

I liked both modes. They appear to actually be two different games. Looks like a lot of fun. As for new game ideas, I'll have to think some more. Obviously there are many games already out there for Palm. I like strategy games, or games where you walk in rooms and have to find the clues to get out, etc.

Well we do plan on making it for both Windows Mobile and Palm OS - so with the 700wx - in about 5-6 months you should be able to play (granted, only if we get a good amount of sales from the Palm version).

Thanks for your comments guys, we are working hard to get it working and I will post videos and screenshots of my other games as soon as we get them to a level we are willing to show off (few weeks).

As the programmer of the mentioned games, I would be happy to hear of any improvements that any of you think would make the games better. I made them because I love to play them, and would enjoy playing them an a PalmOS device, with a stylus, even more.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
