![]() | Does Kinoma Player 4 EX play .m4v? (a.k.a. unprotected iPod Videos) I was wondering if it will play .m4v. Since I want a treo 700p video player that plays .m4v.

![]() | Yes. The .m4v extension just means that it's an MPEG-4 file, and Kinoma Player supports MPEG-4. However, Kinoma Player currently supports only the MPEG-4 Video video codec. Most iPod content video is AVC, and much of it is encoded at datarates that require the iPod's dedicated video decoding hardware to play. That said, I use these files all the time. I just run them through Kinoma Producer on the way to my Treo. You can also use Nero Recode or whatever other MPEG-4 encoder you prefer. I hope that's helpful, -- Charles Wiltgen ![]() |
